Pleased to say we have been nominated for the Best Campaign for our work with Scottish Fire and Rescue – The new single Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will have a workforce of more than 9,000 firefighters and support staff, with accountability for a multi-million pound budget and responsibility for ensuring the safety of more than five million people.
From 1st April 2013, Scotland’s eight Fire Services are merging into one, new, national Service. There is a concomitant need to recruit for several, key, senior posts, with the HRD and FD two of the most crucial. Normally, these would be headhunted, but SFRS wanted to try something different. The brief, though, was straightforward. Get the best possible response from the private as well as the public sector, recruit the best person for each job and keep the cost as low as possible.
Some of the desired candidates – passive candidates not necessarily looking for a job – were well-known to the client. However, rather than using a head-hunter (expensive) to call them, it was easy (and inexpensive) to identify these passive candidates on LinkedIn and thence to communicate and sell the job to them. In addition, we needed to ensure that those currently seeking these kind of jobs – the active candidates – saw an attractive advert across a detailed candidate attraction process through job boards.
